Applied Positive Psychology:

Music, Emotions and Authentic Life

VIDEO INTERVIEW

What truly makes us happy? I'm not talking about fleeting happiness, likes, or small, instant gratifications. I'm talking about something deeper, more real. That feeling of fulfillment that comes when we live in harmony with who we are.
This is where Positive Psychology comes in: a science of well-being, hope, and inner flourishing.

Martin Seligman: The Father of Positive Psychology

In 1998, Martin Seligman, an American psychologist and president of the APA, officially launched the Positive Psychology movement, shedding new light on the science of mind. Until then, psychology had focused almost exclusively on illness, trauma, and distress. But Seligman's question was different:
What makes life worth living?

From this question was born the PERMA model, which still guides thousands of studies and personal journeys today:

  • P – Positive Emotions: Cultivate emotions such as joy, gratitude, and love.

  • E – Engagement: experiencing moments of “flow,” when we are totally immersed in what we do.

  • R – Relationships: nurturing authentic and positive relationships.

  • M – Meaning: giving meaning to what we experience.

  • A – Accomplishment: feeling fulfilled in our projects.

Other pioneers of scientific well-being

Positive Psychology is a symphony of brilliant minds.
Among them:

  • Mihály Csíkszentmihályi , who taught us the power of Flow , that state of grace in which we lose track of time.

  • Barbara Fredrickson , with her “Broaden and Build” theory, has demonstrated that positive emotions not only make us feel better, but also broaden our minds and build internal resources.

  • Tal Ben-Shahar , who brought positive psychology to the desks of Harvard, making it accessible to everyone.

  • Sonja Lyubomirsky , who reminded us that happiness can be trained, day after day.

And in Europe?
The movement also took shape thanks to organizations like the European Institute of Positive Psychology (IEPP) , with which I had the pleasure of collaborating as a spokesperson for Italy. This experience allowed me to integrate concrete tools for emotional well-being into my artistic life.

The Positive Psychologist is the official platform of the IEPP – European Institute of Positive Psychology, dedicated to online training in Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Potential Coaching. It offers practical and certified courses, based on scientific methodologies, to promote personal and professional well-being.

When Music Becomes Positive Psychology

For me, music is much more than a DJ set.
It's a form of vibrational medicine , an activator of elevated emotions. In my sets, I often use 432 Hz frequencies because I believe in the harmonizing power of sound. Each song is carefully chosen to stimulate feelings of love, freedom, and joy.

This is not just art: it is conscious energy .

#Gmagic: A project between art, soul, and psychology

For years I have been carrying out #Gmagic , a project that blends music, emotions, values and spirituality.
Behind every video, every show, every song lies a choice: to cultivate elevated emotions, community, sisterhood, presence. Positive psychology is the beating heart of the #GmagicStory , a collective narrative of light, transformation, and awareness.

Mindfulness and Music: Silence within Sound

Being present is key.
Whether in meditation or in a DJ set. Yes, even when I'm playing in a castle or a spa, I can "listen" to the energy of the moment, creating a sacred space with music.
I use active mindfulness techniques, sound rituals, Tibetan bells, and 432 Hz music. It's a way to connect breath to vibration, body to consciousness.

Small exercises for big transformations

You don't need to change everything at once. Sometimes, small daily gestures are enough:

  • Write down three things you are grateful for every day.

  • Create a space in your home that makes you feel good.

  • Breathe mindfully for just 3 minutes.

  • Celebrate every achievement, even the smallest.

  • Put on the right music to vibrate higher.

Guided Meditation: "Gratitude in the Breath"

“Every breath can become an act of love towards ourselves.
And every positive emotion is a seed of light to be cultivated.”

Find a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Inhale slowly. Exhale deeply.
Let go.
Bring to mind something beautiful that happened today… even just a smile, a ray of sunshine.
Feel gratitude. Repeat to yourself:

“Thank you for this moment. Thank you for the life I breathe.”

Martin Seligman's words that inspire me every day

“Happiness is not just the pleasure of the moment, but also meaning, commitment, and fulfillment.”
“We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can choose how we respond.”
“Hope is not just an emotion, it is a conscious choice.”

In conclusion

“It's not just about positive vibes,

feeling good, through art, love and connection.”
